I have gratitude today for...
* getting up around 8 and reserving a palapa on the beach before breakfast. We learned people get in line before 6am to claim the best ones on the beach! I'm going to try to do that tomorrow so we have one in the front.
* breakfast at Salt & Pepper. We had the sweetest waitress, Sharon. She alone made me want to go back there. The food was good like we remembered and we both enjoyed talking with Sharon.
* a relaxing day at the beach. We played Scrabble on the Kindle, I read more of my book and we went in and out of the water with floats. We absolutely love it here and I'm determined to plan a group trip for sometime in 2013 or 2014.
* Happy Hour at Bugaloe. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks along with their chicken satay platter (it was very good)! We met a nice couple from Chicago and enjoyed talking with them while we were at the bar.
* a fun night walking around town. Andy had a burger at Aruba's version of Five Guys (owned by a couple from Boston). Then we went to a bar upstairs for a beer. There was no one there but we sat outside and watched all of the action below. The music was entertaining---no joke, one of the songs playing was called "I want to f*** you in the ass". Whaaaaat? It was so weird and we couldn't help but laugh. I can't imagine parents of young kids or older people walking by and hearing a song like that. We left after one beer. I doubt they'll be in business next time we're here.
* attempting to go to the new bar, Zombie Room. They supposedly have live music every night but it was dead when we walked over. We didn't even go inside.
* playing some more video poker again in the casino. Andy did pretty well and I did better than last night but not great. We walked away about $25 up tonight.
